Eating blood sugar-lowering foods is one way to keep blood sugar levels of diabetics stable. These foods have different ways of working to control blood sugar, ranging from slowing down the release of carbohydrates to increasing insulin sensitivity.
Diabetes is a disease in which blood sugar levels exceed normal limits because the body does not produce enough insulin, or when the body can no longer use insulin effectively (insulin resistance).

Avocados can be a blood sugar-lowering food choice. Based on research, avocados can reduce the risk of diabetes thanks to the content of healthy fats and minerals in it. This nutrient works by increasing the body's sensitivity to insulin, so that blood sugar levels more easily decrease.
4. Cherries
Besides tomatoes, cherries are also rich in anthocyanins which can affect the body's sensitivity to insulin. If the body's sensitivity to insulin decreases, the hormone cannot work properly in controlling blood sugar.
Therefore, consuming foods that contain anthocyanins regularly can increase the body's sensitivity to insulin.
5. High protein foods
One type of effective blood sugar-lowering food is high protein foods, such as eggs, fish, and nuts. Eggs and fish also contain healthy omega-3 fats which can reduce inflammation and help maintain stable blood sugar levels. This type of food is not only good for diabetes, but also can prevent heart disease.
6. Apple cider vinegar
To reduce blood sugar levels, you can consume one tablespoon of apple vinegar mixed with a glass of water. Apple vinegar, which contains a lot of antioxidants, is thought to reduce blood sugar levels in the body, but it is unclear how it works and its effect on diabetes treatment.
7. Fenugreek
Fenugreek seeds which are also called kelabat or hulbah are rich in soluble fiber. Soluble fiber helps reduce blood sugar by slowing digestion and absorption of carbohydrates, so that blood sugar levels do not rise dramatically.
This herb can also increase the effectiveness of insulin, so that the body's cells can use glucose better. The result, blood sugar levels will more easily go down.
